Tell us more about you: Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) owns and operates Cochin International Airport (COK), Kochi, a leading international gateway serving Kerala and South India. CIAL is the first airport in India developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model and the world’s first airport to be fully powered by solar energy. CIAL operates a comprehensive Air Cargo Complex with approximately 200,000 sq. ft. of international cargo infrastructure, handling international and domestic cargo, perishables, pharmaceuticals, seafood, fresh produce, dangerous and radioactive goods, express/courier shipments, transshipment cargo and dedicated freighter operations. Its 25,000 sq. ft. Centre for Perishable Cargo (CPC) provides temperature-controlled facilities supporting cold-chain commodities. CIAL also provides Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) for international pet movements and Express Cargo Clearance System (ECCS) facilities for international courier and express cargo. Customs-bonded Road Feeder Services (RFS) further connect Kochi with other airports, industrial centres and cargo gateways. CIAL is strategically positioned for Air–Sea–Road–Rail multimodal logistics. The DP World-operated International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) at Cochin Port is approximately 25 km from the airport, while Vizhinjam International Seaport is approximately 260 km away. Strong highway connectivity and proximity to the railway network further enhance opportunities for integrated multimodal cargo solutions. With extensive international connectivity, particularly to the Middle East and major global hubs, wide-body passenger capacity and dedicated freighter operations, CIAL aims to further establish Kochi as a preferred international air cargo and multimodal logistics gateway for Kerala and South India. As a TIACA Trustee Member, CIAL seeks to actively leverage the global TIACA network to build new partnerships with airlines, airports, freight forwarders, shippers, logistics companies, ground handlers and technology providers. The membership provides an important platform for CIAL to enhance its global visibility, exchange industry knowledge and best practices, identify new cargo routes and business opportunities, attract freighter and logistics partners, and collaborate on digitalisation, innovation, sustainability, cold-chain development and multimodal logistics. Through active engagement with TIACA and its global membership, CIAL looks forward to developing meaningful industry partnerships, expanding international cargo connectivity and showcasing Kochi as an emerging cargo and logistics gateway connecting South India with global markets.
